Martin de Porres Director of Faith Formation Job Summary: The Director of Faith Formation DFF is a member of the parish staff with professional preparation for, and sensitivity to, the catechetical, and spiritual formation needs of the children. This ministry implements the vision of the Pastor with regard to the needs of the young people of the parish and in compliance with Diocesan and Parish norms and practices.
The DFF provides leadership to assist the parish community in building a solid foundation of catechetical ministry. Major Areas of Responsibility: Work with the Pastor to prepare a yearly master calendar for Faith Formation for the coming year and presents to the Pastor for final approval by the end of June. Responsible for the planning and implementation of Faith Formation activities such as registration, order materials, and organize the Faith Formation Diocese of Austin Catholic Parishes.
The DM exercises an important ministry that reaches out to the staff, choir members, members of the parish, and the community. With the cooperation and assistance of all the parish ministers, the DM will support the gospel message through song and enable the assembly to live it more fully.
The DM oversees the parish music services and is involved in the liturgical planning programs. DM will serve as the parish accompanist and vocal coach during practices and liturgical services.

I left to avoid a RIF and start a career in an area I wanted to pursue there but couldn't because positions were cut. Overall, it's still a great place to work. If my site weren't under such duress, I would have been content to retire there. No chance to advance unless you bleed blue. They want team players, but only to do as management requests. Cons See say environment. Trust no one. A lot of "hurry up and wait". You get all the issues of a big mega corporation and a government agency combined. Someguys have been out here decades and barely do anything.
Nothing more than mediocrity is all that's asked of you. Good money and benefits, but there was a big culture shock. Layoffs are always looming, and for a company that has it's hands in so many areas, it's a bit of a shock to learn they are way behind on technology.
On top of that, non-IT managers are frequently put in charge of IT departments for the sake of diversity. Enacting some of the strangest decisions that keep you from doing your jobs. Some of the IT decisions are so ridiculous, you'll think you're working at a high school startup. Reshaping and reorganizing of departments is constantly going on as higher ups try to find a way to cut as many workers as possible.
