I was able to check in ahead of time, nice touch! Kudos to Tiago. Great guy! This was a solid place to stay. Close to both the Piccadilly line on the Underground and Kings Cross area made it a great place to start every day and get around the city.
The first night we arrived the bathroom was a bit of a mess, but by morning the whole place had been very thoroughly cleaned. The private 4-bed room was a little cramped, but otherwise was fine accommodation for just sleeping.
Would recommend. A very cozy accommodation in the heart of Central London. Staff are welcoming. Clean rooms and facilities. Staff were polite and friendly. It's a pretty central location but not too noisy. There was a shortage of toiletries to purchase. They didn't have any shampoo to purchase and had to borrow a friends.
I stayed in the female dorm on the 5 th floor , while I was in the ladies toliet at midnight , the male worker tried to come and do cleaning. I think if outside the door showing the cleaning period is more secure. The lockers underneath the beds are not really convenient, it made sounds and the door is heavy.
Specially when someone is sleeping. Generator London was not what I was used to from generator hostels. Primarily the rooms, it really just shocked me to meet 3 different people in my room who were living there long term, months on end, with their bike, electric tea kettle, hot plate, closet hanger filled with clothes, and food laid out everywhere.
Felt less like a hostel for travelers and more like a shelter of sorts My only disappointment was lack of hot water in the bedroom.
